Women (and men!) can add some colour to their hair for just $10 per hair extension (which includes both application and future removal), and the full amount of each hair extension purchased will be donated in full to NBCF for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Even If only 1000 strands are purchased by women across Australia, the donation to NBCF will be $10,000.
Sali Stevanja is a representative from the NBCF and the face of the Pink Hair to Show You Care Fundraiser.
“I’m a 29 year old mother of one, and I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 27. I endured seven months of intense chemo, becoming fatigued, nauseated and not to mention losing all my hair – that’s pretty hard to take when you are meant to be at your prime. My friends were experimenting with new hairstyles whilst I was trying on wigs,” explained Sali,
“Hair is so representative of a women’s femininity and the loss of hair during cancer treatment can be incredibly distressing for many women," said Liz Talga, Salon Manager of Bauhaus Hair, one of the participating hair extension salons in Waterloo, NSW, 2017.
“We are experienced in working with women who have uneven growth and issues with fine hair, due to cancer treatment, pregnancy or hormone related causes. In these instances, having Great Lengths hair extensions applied can be immensely beneficial in building self confidence and creating gorgeous, completely natural looking hair that is easy to maintain.”
